Puglia is a destination for all those people with a passion for simple delicious flavours and an interest in the provenance of food. The land is rich and bountiful, the 500 miles of coast offer a profuse fresh catch, and we pride ourselves in “zero miles” ingredients. Puglia has the soul of a mother. When a mother shows her love she offers food, and this is the Apulian way. At our Masseria Il Melograno our chefs are warmly enthusiastic and ready to reveal the secrets behind the perfect focaccia, tiny neat orecchiette, and traditional Apulian dishes. The cooking class is not available on week ends, and subject to availability. It is even possible to attend cooking class in other Masseria in the nearby villages of Conversano and Monopoli. It is necessary to book in advance at the reception.
Departure from Monopoli or Polignano a Mare to board on a comfortable luxury motor Yacht or Catamarano for a maximum 10 people on board, to relax exploring the amazing Polignano a Mare, full of caves and cliffs that have been created by the sea over millennia.
La Peschiera is the only hotel on the Adriatic coast where you can be picked up from the patio of your room and embarked on a really romantic traditional local boat, called gozzo. Enjoy this 3-hour sunset experience on board while sipping a chilled Spumante Bottle and tasting some crunchy Taralli. The excursion may be integrated with the polparella fishing experience. Using a lamp to attract the creatures you then catch them by hand. The excursion will be definitely confirmed 3 days before scheduled departure, according to weather and sea conditions. Alternative would be open fiberglass boat departing from Monopoli or a romantic wooden boat from Polignano a Mare.

There are 60 million olives trees planted in the region, half of which are hundreds of years old and five million are over a thousand years old. In Puglia there are more or less 13 different listed varieties of olives – the so-called cultivar – Spend some of your time during your vacation exploring these enchanting olive oil farms dotted all around Puglia countryside. From olive harvest to the production in the modern olive oil mill till the visit to the beautiful olive oil underground mill dates sometimes from 1700, you will enjoy always a special Olive oil tasting journey according to your time.
Meeting with your guide and departure for Martina Franca. Guided visit of the village which is situated on a high lying slope of the trulli Murgia and its old centre dominated by Baroque buildings as the Collegiate of San Martino, the church of S. Domenico, S. Vito dei Greci, the Ducal Palace. The excursion proceeds to Alberobello, the capital of the trulli country, and visit of the old town, which has been decreed UNESCO site. Indeed, the principal quarters: Monti and Aia Piccola are entirely composed by trulli lining the uphill lines. At the end of the tour we can arrange for you a wine tasting accompanied by appetizers from the land (form Monday till Friday) or an Olive oil tasting on Tuesday and Thursday at 5.00 pm in Monopoli area. You will discover a white wine from Valle d’Itria, a rosato wine from Castel del Mone area and a red wine: the Primitivo di Manduria; all served with a selection of local appetizers from our chefs.

The roads outside La Peschiera are bordered by agricultural land and the sea. Cycling along you can see the conical roofs of a beachside trulli, a former store for fishermen or farmers. After ten or fifteen minutes you will reach Egnazia, the 4BC Roman ruins and excellent museum that traces the history of the site through artefacts such as ceramics, sculptures, coins and utensils.
Stroll along Egnazia’s stone roads, past the defensive walls that stood 7 metres high, envisaging the busy life of this city. There are 5 BC intact Messapian tombs on view. Cycle back for a refreshing dip in our pools, or to relax on your private beach.
